Starry Night
Calling it Section 8 Housing felt a little much, but apparently they were not accepting applications anyway. A night sky, a familiar art-world wink, and just enough mischief to keep the frame from taking itself too seriously.

While I never got married or had any kids, my nephew is Colson Baker: aka Machine Gun Kelly. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Each piece now has its own viewing page with a larger image, buying details, and John's lighter descriptions. Serious art, unserious ego.

John painted Sunflowers because roses and orchids have been hogging Best in Show for far too long. Consider this a cheerful protest with petals.
John painted Sailboats because he likes them better than pontoon boats. That may not settle maritime history, but it is a perfectly good reason to make art.
John painted Irises because he likes purple and remains a fan of the artist formerly known as Prince. Some colors deserve a little guitar solo.

John took this picture on the off chance it could land on the cover of National Geographic as one of the most iconic bird pictures ever taken. Modest goals, naturally.
John took this picture because he ran out of paint. Fortunately, Venice, Florida was willing to sit still for a moment.
John sketched this one because he figured Jesus would forgive him if he did not quite get his better side. That is the advantage of working with a forgiving subject.
John felt Jesus needed a serious modern-day makeover to blend in with all the other bums in Portland. Sacred subject, street-level punchline.
